This safari combines five days of the most famous national parks of Tanzania  and includes the great wildebeest migration. You will start your journey at Tarangire National Park for one day, Serengeti National Park and end at Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This is based on camping accommodation whereby you will visit the Tarangire National Park with its large elephant herds and the impressive baobab trees; you will then head to the Ngorongoro crater, a true animal paradise with the chance to observe the “big five” in one day and finally the Lake Manyara National Park with its tree climbing lions and more than 400 different bird species await you.

 

Arrival at the airport and pick up

Welcome Tanzania. After arriving at Kilimanjaro international or Arusha airports you will find our team waiting for you. You will be driven to your hotel in Arusha. You will spend the rest of the day relaxing at your hotel or exploring the town of Arusha. In the evening our team will meet you to brief you on the safari.

Day 1 Arusha – Tarangire National Park

On your first day of the safari you will be picked from your hotel by our team at about 8.30am after breakfast and driven to Tarangire National Park. The Park is located south-west of Arusha region. The drive takes about 2 hours to cover the 120 km to the Park. The Park covers an area of 2850 km2. It’s the 6th largest park in the country. The park is an unrivalled landscape of open plains dotted with thousands of giant baobab tree. The Park is also known for its big herds of elephant and buffalo. It is one of the Africa’s gems. Amongst the species to be seen at Tarangire are buffalo, elephant, lion, warthog, eland, the fringe eared Oryx, lesser and greater kudu, gerenuk and large number of impala.

You will have your lunch at Matete Campsite after which you will proceed with afternoon game drive until evening. You will exit the park and head to Sun Bright Campsite.

Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti National park

After breakfast we will depart heading to Serengeti National Park 3-4 hours’ drive, via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we will descend into the heart of African wild – the Serengeti National Park with its endless plains rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We will then head to central Serengeti area, the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park featuring the Seronera River which provides a valuable water source to this area therefore attracting different species of wildlife. You will have lunch and enjoy the afternoon viewing game during the game drive. You will then head to Seronera Campsite for the night.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park (Northern Serengeti)

Today after breakfast you will depart with your picnic lunch for a full day game drive at northern Serengeti. You will be able to see the Mara River itself and if lucky you might see the great migration of many animals including wildebeest and zebras. Other animals that you may view at the park include buffalos, giraffes, lions, cheetahs, impala and many species of antelope. We will proceed with game drive till very late evening then drive to the campsite for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater

On day 4 after breakfast you proceed with full game drives in other parts of Serengeti National Park. The game drive will begin early in the morning a time by which all animals are active and can be easily spotted. Here you will see all big cats: the lions, the cheetahs and leopards and other different species of animals and birds. After lunch you will proceed with afternoon game drive till early evening when you will be driven to Ngorongoro Conservation Area for dinner and overnight stay at Simba Campsite.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

On day 5 after an early breakfast, you will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife. Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro conservation Area supports a vast variety of animals which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big attraction in this picturesque national park is its dense population of predators which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard. After lunch you will proceed with the afternoon game drive till evening when you will be transferred back to Arusha for an overnight stay at your hotel.
